Athletic Highlights: October 30th – November 5th
Football: The No. 25 Mars Hill football team was defeated by Tusculum, 29-27 in double overtime this past Saturday. The Lions will wrap up their 2023 season on Saturday, November 11 when they host Newberry. Senior Day kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
Men's Soccer: The Lions were defeated by No. 15 Limestone by a score of 2-0 to wrap up their campaign on Wednesday, November 1.
Women's Soccer: The Lions fell to Limestone, 1-0, in their regular season finale, but qualified for the South Atlantic Conference tournament for the first time in 11 years. Mars Hill ultimately wrapped up their season, Sunday, November 5, falling to No. 10 Lenoir-Rhyne in the quarterfinal contest.
Volleyball: Mars Hill went 1-2 this past week, defeating Carson-Newman in four sets on home turf Wednesday night, but falling to Wingate and Catawba over the weekend in three and four sets, respectively. The Lions face Tusculum on Wednesday in their final road match of the season before concluding the regular season on Saturday, November 11 versus Newberry at home.
Men's Cross Country: The Lions placed 24th at the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 4.
Women's Cross Country: The Lions placed 20th at the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 4, their best and highest placing finish in over four years.
Women's Basketball: Mars Hill fell to Elon by a score of 59-37 Friday evening on the road in exhibition play.
