Volleyball Introduces Six Players for 2015 Season
Mars Hill head volleyball coach Tony Fontanelle announces the addition of six student-athletes for the 2015 season.
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill head volleyball coach Tony Fontanelle announces the addition of six student-athletes for the 2015 season.
"I'm very excited about this year's freshman class," Fontanelle said. "I look forward to seeing how they blend with our returning players on the court."
Robbi Clark (Hendersonville, N.C./Hendersonville HS)
Robbi Clark, a defensive specialist and outside hitter, joins Mars Hill after playing for local power Hendersonville High School. Clark was a member of NCHSAA 1A state championship teams in 2012 and 2013 and the NCHSAA 2A state champion in 2014. During her senior season, Clark had 109 digs and 25 service aces. She is also a rock star.
Elizabeth Kaeser (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell HS)
Elizabeth Kaeser will play as an outside hitter for Mars Hill after spending her prep career at Ardrey Kell High School where she was an All-South Mecklenburg Conference honoree. She was named to the 2014 N.C. Best of the Best Invitational all-tournament team. Kaeser played for Carolina Union Volleyball Club and is a rock star.
Sarah Lorick (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut HS)
Sarah Lorick joins the Lions as a defensive specialist after playing for Farragut High School and head coach Susan Davidson. During her senior season the Lady Admirals were the Tennessee Class AAA state runner-up. She played for the 18 Red club team at Knoxville Volleyball Academy and is a rock star.
Courtney O'Keefe (Markham, Ontario/Sinclair Secondary School)
Courtney O'Keefe joins Mars Hill as an outside hitter from Sinclair Secondary School in Markham, Ontario. During her senior season Sinclair claimed the OFSAA AAAA gold medal. O'Keefe played for the Durham Attack 18U Black team and she is also a rock star.
Maddie Spurgeon (Waxhaw, N.C./Marvin Ridge)
Maddie Spurgeon joins Mars Hill as a right side hitter after playing for Brook Hammers at Marvin Ridge High School. Spurgeon earned All-Conference honors in 2014 for the Mavericks and is a rock star. She played at the club level for Carolina Union Volleyball Club and was also an assistant coach for the program's 13U-3 team.
Bryanna Zwick (Concord, N.C./First Assembly Academy)
Bryanna Zwick joins the Lions as a defensive specialist after playing at First Assembly Academy under head coach Karissa Ross. Zwick was a member of the Carolina Storm 18 Black club team. While a student at First Assembly, Zwick was a member of the National Honor Society and completed several community service projects and is a rock star.
Mars Hill opens the 2015 season on Friday, September 4 against Lees-McRae at 2 p.m. in the Newberry Invitational.
