Butler Receives Academic All-District Honors
Rebecca Butler has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District™ III volleyball team
AUSTIN, TEXAS - Rebecca Butler has been named to the 2015 Academic All-District™ III volleyball team (NCAA Division II), selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Butler is a sophomore Chemistry major with a 4.0 GPA and is also active in the greater Mars Hill community. This is her first appearance on the Academic All-District team. In 22 matches played this season, Butler has 222 kills, 316 digs, 10 service aces and 42 blocks. She is sixth in the South Atlantic Conference with 14 solo blocks. Of the 22 matches she has played in this season, Butler has tallied double-digit kills and digs in seven of them.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. The District III team consists of players from Conference Carolinas, Peach Belt Conference and the South Atlantic Conference.
Mars Hill hosts Brevard tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Stanford Arena.
