YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The Mars Hill baseball team (19-19-1) was defeated by Young Harris (29-10) by a score of 15-2 Tuesday night on the road in non-conference play.
Mars Hill trailed 8-0 entering the eighth frame. Both Yeriel Pastrana and Alejandro Aguilar drew bases loaded walks to plate Mel Rubiera and Peyton Starkey, respectively, for the Lions' two runs of the contest.
Young Harris, in the bottom of the eighth, blew the game open scoring seven more runs, highlighted by Jackson Morgan's two-run double to center.
Jeo Hernandez led all players with four RBI while Morgan, Jonny Smith, Keypher Contreras, and Jayden Carbonell-Smith each collected two RBI. Carbonell-Smith led all players with three hits in the contest.
Rubiera and Pastrana recorded the lone hits for Mars Hill.
The Lions return to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday, April 10 when they host Carson-Newman. First pitch at Henderson Field is set for 2 p.m.
