HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (4-19, 1-15 SAC) was defeated by Coker (18-4, 13-3 SAC) by a score of 70-62 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Cobras led by 10 entering the second half, outscoring Mars Hill 33-23. Despite a stronger second half performance, including a game-high 22 points scored in the fourth quarter, the Lions fell just short of the road upset.
Four Cobras ended the day in double-figures, led by Shawnteanna Tillman and Yasmine Cook's 15 apiece. Janay Legagneur and Kristynn Knight collected a game-high eight rebounds aside.
Jadein Haynes led the team with 13 points while the duo of Felesia Ondongo and Kindan Dawson added 12 points apiece. The trio of Dawson, Haynes, and Shyann McCummings each pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, February 11 when they face Tusculum on the road. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
