MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (3-9, 0-8 SAC) was defeated by Coker (5-8, 3-5 SAC) by a score of 13-4 Saturday afternoon.
The Cobras opened the game on a 5-0 run, extending into the second quarter. The Lions broke through with 10:16 remaining in the first half as Brooklyn Nemitz put home a Grace Hinkel feed.
Cierra Ledeen, with under five minutes to play in the half, netted the Lions' second tally, assisted by Miranda Overby.
In the third quarter, the Lions got goals from Reese Wachter and Abby Cleveland. Wachter assited on Cleveland's strike.
Wachter led the Lions with two points (1G, 1A). Kate Halcro (5G) and Mia MacMillan (3G, 2A) led all players with five points.
Prior to the start of the contest, seniors Neveah Louden, Miranda Overby, and Angie Laruy were recognized and celebrated for their contributions to the program.
The Lions wrap up their road slate on Saturday, April 18 when they face Catawba. First draw is set for 12 p.m.
