Lions defeated by Coker on road
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (913, 3-13 SAC) was defeated by Coker (3-19, 2-14 SAC) by a score of 75-69 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Cobras outscored Mars Hill 41-27 in the first half with both Zundra Jackson and Xavier Moultrie scoring 11 points apiece. The team hit six threes in the half, hitting over 37 percent from beyond the arc.
Keenan Wilkins led the Lions with six points and four rebounds in the frame. Jaheim Taylor and Aljaz Vidmar netted five apiece from the bench.
Mars Hill, despite outscoring the Cobras 42-34 in the second half, was unable to complete the comeback effort. Wilkins paced the Lions' offense with nine points while Taylor added eight. Alejandro Ford scored seven and led the team with two steals.
Wilkins led the team with 15 points and both he and Ford led the team with six rebounds. Taylor added 13 points while Marvin Hires scored 10 on the day. Ford led the team with three steals while Ashton Troutman led the team with three assists.
The Lions return to the court on Wednesday, February 11 when they face Tusculum on the road. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
