MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (9-15, 3-15 SAC) was defeated by Lenoir-Rhyne (20-6, 14-4 SAC) by a score of 91-74 Saturday afternoon.
The Bears hit 50 percent of their shots on the afternoon and were led offensively by Conrad Luczynski and Akili Evans' 16 points. Julian Dozier added 15, going 6-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Luczynski led the team with five rebounds and four steals while Dozier led the team with four assists.
Keenan Wilkins led the Lions with 19 points followed by 12 from Caden Owens. The duo of Marvin Hires and Jaheim Taylor each added 10 points. Ashton Troutman led all players with seven rebounds, chipping in 11 points.
Mars Hill hit a game-high 53 percent of shots from the floor and 39 percent from beyond the arc, however, hit just 63 percent from the free throw line.
The Lions host Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, February 18 inside Chambers Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
