Lions fall to Trojans
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (5-4, 2-2 SAC) was defeated in straight sets by Anderson (7-4, 2-1 SAC) Tuesday night.
The Trojans hit a match-high .371 in the first set, pulling away late to claim the opening frame. In the second, they recorded a match-high 17 kills. Closing out the match, the Trojans hit .229 in the final frame, also taking advantage from the service game to win their seventh match of the season.
Mia Elder led all players with 13 kills, hitting .550 in the match. Ellie Nieporte led all players with 32 assists and three aces while Jamie Juhnevicz led all players with 20 digs.
Keira Links led the Lions with nine kills, hitting .318 on the night while adding three blocks. Jenna Rosenbaum recorded eight kills to follow behind Links. Alyssa Kornegay led the team with 15 assists while Laela Jimenez led the Lions with 18 digs. Skylar Ogden added a team-high four blocks and three kills.
The Lions take to the road Friday night, squaring off against Newberry. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
