MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (10-12, 6-10 SAC) was defeated by Carson-Newman (21-4, 12-4 SAC) in four sets Saturday evening.
The Lions found themselves down 1-0 after Carson-Newman hit a match-high .351 with 16 kills. They responded in the second, hitting a team-best .182 with a match-high 16 kills to even up the match.
In both the third and fourth frames, the Eagles were able to pull away midway through each set. They hit .270 and .293 in each respective set to secure their 21st win of the campaign.
Emerson Ahsmuhs led all players with 18 kills, adding 22 digs for the double-double.
Both Megan Lee Prezio and Keira Links led the Lions with 10 kills apiece. Mackenzie Schmucker led the team with 18 assists and 10 digs for the double-double.
Laela Jimenez led all players with 26 digs while Brooke Hoffman led all players with four blocks.
The Lions take to the road for the final time in the regular season on Tuesday, November 11 when they face Anderson. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
